A Classical Ingenuity A whimsical blend of old and new, this neo-colonial apartment tackles the contemporary aesthetic head on, while keeping the space efficient and practical. Property Specifically designed for a newlywed couple Tony and Joanne, A build to order 5 Room, HBD apartment module that has been revamped to suit a more modern aesthetic. An Overall Take on Design Designing interiors for apartment spaces can be tricky – Interior designer Mr ken goo have risen up to the task exceptionally well. In a limited amount of area, they have molded the space in a way to suit the ideal aesthetic of the client, and created a space that is not only spacious, but grand Furnished with cove lights, wall beading and a very a la mode feature partition wall, the overall mood is set to be low-key opulent while keeping the new-fangled look fresh. The client, Mr Tony and Ms Joanne wanted the space to be molded in clean, cut lines while still emulating a distinctively cozy vibe in the ambiance. The color palate is mostly subdued, but that only adds an understated elegance to the muted grandeur of the neo-colonial aspect of the theme – an expert amalgamation. Looking at the Living Room The living area, storage and dining space consolidate into a single, open breadth, but each still holds its own ambiance and functionality. The living area has been designed in the image of colonial tradition, with beading on the feature walls, floor to ceiling contemporary French Windows with Venetian white PVC blinds, and a cove light holder. In addition, the furniture design is a clever combination of modern and classical – the black, leather sofa creates an interesting juxtaposition against the velvet upholstered loveseat; one modern, the other not. The suspended TV cabinet dressed in dressed in ash wood veneer looks distinctly modern against the wall beading in its backdrop. The careful overlap of white and black is perfectly proportioned to balance out the visual weight of the overall ambiance – not too bold, yet not too austere. "Tony and Joanne knew what they want right from the beginning. I came in to lego up the bits and pieces. The joyous couple really garnish the house in style. It is a pleasure to work for the lovey pair " describe designer Ken The Dining Tucked in a little nook to the side, the dining area fully embraces the dual dichotomy of the contemporary colonial theme by integrating small aspects of both in its furniture and ambient design. The elaborate lighting fixture, semi ornate furniture and the floor laid out with glossy homogenous tiles full complement each other’s quintessential styles. The kitchen is separated from the dining by a collapsible door/window formation that has been designed to reinvent the open floor plan systems. Demolishing the half wall that had been there before. In this way, the kitchen can be separated while the cooking and air conditioner are in full effect – a versatile and ingenious setting. The Kitchen The kitchen itself is a sleek affair and follows the same color and material palate as the rest of the apartment – with white, glossy EDL laminates, black quartz countertops (courtesy: IQUARTZ), tempered glass backsplash and soft close drawers, Mr. Ken has created an exemplary theme for this specific kitchen. Master Bedroom The prevalent austerity that follows most of the thematic execution in the public zones is fettered out in the bedrooms. Instead, there is a distinct warmth allocated by the wooden floors. The master bed has a sliding entrance into a huge walk-in closet, and features an opening into a stylishly designed bathroom furnished with the most modern of accessories. Conclusion Faith Interior Design only features the best, and this apartment proves to be just that by following a hybrid theme that features an expert application by the designer and creates an ambiance that is refreshingly binary without seeming excessively extravagant. The color and material palates coordinate efficiently, and the space itself is manipulated with utmost pragmatism – a notable feat of design.
