The flat, located in a mature estate Hougang and measuring 67 sqm, was completely overhauled by HDB-approved renovation contractor, Faith Interior Design led by Mr. Ken Goo, the project achieved a seamless balance of contrasting themes 

HDB units may be compact by design, but that doesn’t mean they can’t exude a bold personality.
This home strikes the perfect balance between comfort and style, blending classic charm with contemporary flair. Select accessories and built-in features were crafted with a lightly distressed finish, enhancing the softness and elegance of the classical elements throughout the space.
From the curated lighting choices to the smooth, refined paintwork — even the subtle decorative accents — every detail has been thoughtfully selected.
The result is a living space that feels both on-trend and inviting, proving that good design is never limited by size.

​The simple relief of the living area
The living area of this HDB unit has been done in the recurring black and white color scheme with a touch of industrial rustic in the mix. While the monochromatic aspects enforce the classical parts of the theme, the wooden floor brings in an industrial edge. 

​The dining nook
The dining nook is an extension of the living area, but manages to retain its own identity. The careful selection of the furniture as well as the light fixture give the space an individual quality that identifies this small nook as an area of its own. The warm temperature is the perfect way to stimulate the appetite and set up a nice ambiance as a result.

🍽️ The Kitchen LayoutThe open kitchen seamlessly connects with the adjacent dining nook, creating a cohesive and inviting communal space. To align the kitchen with the overall design theme of this HDB interior renovation, Mr. Ken reimagined the original layout and finishes, transforming it into a modern, stylish zone.
A custom L-box ceiling feature was installed to discreetly conceal exposed plumbing and wiring, while also serving as a clean framework for integrated ceiling lights — enhancing both form and function in this beautifully redesigned kitchen area.

​The black IKEA knobs perfectly complement the shabby chic finish of the kitchen cabinets and the classic subway tile backsplash, tying together a look that feels both rustic and refined. To elevate the aesthetic, monochrome patterned floor and subway tiles from Hafary Tile Gallery introduce a touch of modern classic charm to the otherwise industrial-inspired setting. Completing the look are the suspended industrial-style pendant lamps that hang gracefully above the parallel countertop layout, adding both character and focused task lighting to the space.

While the bedroom design remains intentionally minimal, it’s the thoughtful choice of materials and lighting that make the space stand out. The wardrobe features Jenning’s classic-style laminate, lending a distinct classic flair that anchors the room’s visual appeal.

🚿 Master Bathroom Overhaul
​The master toilet was thoughtfully enlarged to create a more spacious and luxurious atmosphere — a rare find in a typical 3-room HDB flat. A full-height fixed glass panel was installed to clearly separate the dry and wet zones, enhancing both functionality and style.
Blending elements of modern classic design with vintage industrial touches, the bathroom strikes a perfect balance of elegance and edge.

Visitors are often surprised by how roomy a compact 3room flat bathrooms can be transformed

Both the toilets have been carefully dressed up to ramp up their aesthetics. The common toilet been artfully done in white subway tiles for walls and monochrome patterned tiles for the floors. Sebas and cherlyn cleverly chose black colour shower mixer that make the overall look is every attractive and thematically accurate.

Property
The property is a standard build-to-order 4 bedroom flat, and has been renovated in the image of the modern contemporary style. Designed by Faith Interior Design, the idea was to design this apartment to emulate a soothing, relaxed yet perfectly modish ambiance.

Overview of the design
Converting something conventional into extraordinary is a challenging task, The client took the BTO Design Package by Faith Interior Designs and invested in a-la-carte items, so the total budget was a reasonable $27k.
Since BTO’s have a predetermined amount of square-footage, it is important to imbue a sense of spaciousness within the design. This is why Andy and Summer crafted the layout to be a roomy concept. The rest of the interior design has been carried out in light, neutral color tones to evoke a sense of calm and restfulness. The simplicity of the finishes is definitely by design, and it reinforces the spatial concept of soothing tranquility even more.

​Theme and Style
The basic idea was to create a restful home environment with a modern concept. Therefore, this home features a dichotomous theme-cum-style which deliver an artful, contemporary, aesthetically pleasing and tranquil interior space.

The openness of the living area
The living room is considered the hub of any home – it’s where families gather, entertain guests and spend time together. Therefore, its design should be spacious as well as comfortable. Designers Andy and Summer arrange the layout to accommodate a spacious layout with a running color scheme of sky blue and whites. The finishes are high-gloss in texture adds to the roominess of the overall aesthetic.

Dining room
Like the rest of the home, the dining area has been carried out in the running sky blue and white tones, the artwork provides nice contrast. 

Master bed
The master bedroom has also been done in the running blue-and-white color scheme, but Andy and Summer added a small twist by tweaking with the laminate designs. The addition of grey, blocky patterns in the mix adds a visual dynamism to the whole space. Instead of looking placid and boring, it looks attractive and dynamic.

The high-resilience floor by LG is another addition that adds refreshingly warm look in the otherwise cool hued interior design.

​The elegant kitchen
The kitchen has a very typical BTO-style layout – narrow and elongated. However, the designers have managed to convey the overall ambiance of the home interior design even in the kitchen. The countertop was sourced from iQuartz and the laminates from TAK Laminates. Tempered glass backing is install for easy maintenance.
The overall ambient result is outstanding and in tandem with the rest of the space.

This could only be carried out with a contained stylistic expression – which means that the all the design works has to be crafted by respecting the size, dimensions and boundaries of the limited space.

The warm lighting combined with the wall paper deliver an attractive ambiance. 

​Continuity in the master bath
The stone accents from the bedroom continue all the way into the master bathroom interior design. Although lighter in visuals, the overall impact is very harmonious, and adds to the wholesome quality of this condo design.

​The open concept formation
The open floor plan that houses the living and dining areas gives the overall interior design a spacious look. The maximized use of white laminates combined with track lighting effects and the wallpaper give the space a warm, semi-rustic and comfortable vibe that makes the entire space seem very cozy yet breathable.

​Bring on the kitchen
The kitchen, like the rest of the condo has been done in mostly white with a touch of warm, under-cabinet lights on the hood. The neutral color scheme adds an airy vibe to the space, which is perfect for a small-scale kitchen of this variety.
